Terena have developed, following a previous TF-PR meeting suggestion, an archive for photos and this platform could be used to build an album for TF-PR images. The platform can only accommodate photographs but not for logos or graphical materials. There was a wider discussion about why existing platforms shouldn’t be used for this such as Flickr or Facebook – it does seem foolish to build a new platform when there are entirely suitable platforms. There was also the inevitable discussion about permissions for use of photographic materials – but no obvious resolution… The initial idea was a sensible one about sharing photographic materials (obviously not copyright etc ) to help others who either cannot source or afford to generate their own images. It was agreed that the Terena gallery probably not a suitable place for any TF-PR images and that other platforms should be explored
