TF-PR Meeting - 21 February 2008
Before the main part of this sessions it was announced that the next TF-PR meeting in Bruges will be a joint one with the Life Cycle and Portfolio Management Task Force (LCPM) on 18 May at 13.30. There has been some discussions recently about the potential benefits of the two task forces working together and this meeting will be the first time the two groups will have come together
Pear News Agency – the news stream from the TF-PR . The service is really to help disseminate news between the countries and try to improve the reach to a wider audience. There is also a series of ‘How To’ leaflets on general communications issues. Out of the 30 or so countries who subscribe to TF-PR only half contribute any materials to Pear over a year and of these the great majority only post one or two items. The reasons why the postings are so low include problems with translations, lack of people to do it, people ‘forget’ etc but it may be that actually people see not sufficient benefit in doing it – would posting news to Pear help anyone’s real national PR or dissemination needs? Seems that there might still not be a sufficiently honest response to why people do not post much information …
